is it worth getting the MBA 11′ 1.8 i7 or just go with the i5?

  2. Mario4Italy on January 7, 2012 at 5:47 am

@AdrianEaston Thanks for replying, but i found out the answer 4 months ago on the day i left the comment. :D

  3. AdrianEaston on January 7, 2012 at 6:46 am

@DvdXploitr actually it makes a lot of sense, its like your touching the screen like an iPad but without touching the screen, I actually like the reverse scrolling

  4. AdrianEaston on January 7, 2012 at 6:55 am

    @Mario4Italy it does both

  5. AdrianEaston on January 7, 2012 at 7:09 am

So my macbook pro got a 3440 score, does that mean that the MBA 11″ is faster?

  6. dinnerandashow on January 7, 2012 at 7:45 am

    @Jferrari427
Because the 2011 Air uses the Intel HD GPU, which is in the same silicone as the CPU, the unit heats up very quickly and the fan kicks in within seconds.

The really bas news, even with all this noise the GPU performs poorly and is very buggy.
    Many games don’t even work.

I’m hoping for the new mac mini………. FROM TLD AND SOLIDER!!!!
    please pick me

  8. b0rk3d on January 7, 2012 at 9:05 am

@iEatUglyNoobs I don’t think your asus transformer comes with Pages. If you’ve ever used an iPad it’s not bad for typing, if you type a lot and is one of those ppl who dont like on the screen, use the Apple keyboard (Which is a physical keyboard) that I mentioned above and you responded to. So are you suggesting that you’d have issues typing with a physical keyboard on an iPad?

  9. iEatUglyNoobs on January 7, 2012 at 9:31 am

@b0rk3d If you’re going to use a keyboard with it then you should just get a laptop. Editing documents on the ipad is kind of dumb, unless you need to do quick edits here and there, but buying primarily for that, is just really dumb. I’ve had an asus transformer and quickly used an ipad, nope. Touch screen typing and editing just sucks.

  10. b0rk3d on January 7, 2012 at 9:51 am

@iEatUglyNoobs Have you ever used an iPad? It’s pretty good for editing documents and plus if your editing documents on it you are probably using the Apple iPad/blutooth keyboard with it.

  11. moley273 on January 7, 2012 at 10:31 am

i really want the Mac Mini!!!! i want it so much that i am going to post this comment to all of TLD and Soldier videos

  12. iEatUglyNoobs on January 7, 2012 at 11:09 am

@b0rk3d Well the ipad would probably be a horrible choice for typing.

  13. b0rk3d on January 7, 2012 at 11:20 am

@iEatUglyNoobs 3D acceleration is not just for games, it’s for almost everything you do on your mac, with SL, including OpenCL, and ….. content generation like encoding, if you say your using your MBA for email, get an iPad.. the 2010 model can not only play any games I throw at it, but constantly beat 2011 model in almost every application that uses GPU based acceleration (which is almost every single top tier application the the Mac … including the dreaded flash).

  14. iEatUglyNoobs on January 7, 2012 at 11:52 am

@b0rk3d Not slower, these aren’t meant for games.

  15. holmesfutrell on January 7, 2012 at 12:11 pm

@TE9994 First off, integrating the GPU on die saves power and heat. Second it wasn’t Apple’s choice: Intel prevented NVidia from offering integrated chipsets for any CPUs newer than the Core 2 duo through legal action. Apple couldn’t offer a discrete GPU because of size and power constraints. This is why Apple held on to the Core 2 duo chip for so long — they were waiting until Intel could at least offer an on die GPU at least somewhat comparable to the last generation’s Geforce 320M.

  16. stevethebarrel on January 7, 2012 at 12:38 pm

@b0rk3d No, Apple have lost me ive ordered the acer 753 11inch 4gb ram 640gb £339 and the bluetooth philips fidelio 8550 ipod dock £189 off Amazon, much better use of my money, and snap out of the apple world, maybe i’ll get a ssd fitted to speed it up in the future.

  17. b0rk3d on January 7, 2012 at 1:25 pm

@stevethebarrel If you can still find an older one, try it, I’ve had my 2010 model play 1080p videos off YT without a problem with the onboard Nvidia card as accelerator for flash. I’m guessing you’d be able to get one cheap even new while they empy the inventory. I didn’t test 1080p flash on the new one before I returned it.

  18. TE9994 on January 7, 2012 at 1:40 pm

Can somebody tell me why Apple do this shit to their users? Why do they take an Intel graphics chip and put it on the processor? Of course this construction gets hot quickly and looses power. Why didn’t they build in a seperated AMD graphik Chip? And what about the Display? How can it be that a very thin Notebook, which has a small processor, has a better Display than his big brother the MacBook “PRO” that stands for the fastet and better MacBook? Hopefully the next one will be better t. t. Air.

  19. TE9994 on January 7, 2012 at 1:48 pm

Also the MacBook Pro gets very hot and the Intel Graphics HD 3000 is so much worse than the nVidia GeForce 320M of my old MacBook (CoD MW 2 on Windows partition for example is a disease on my new MacBook “PRO” compared to my old MacBook “cheapest one” with 2 GB of RAM :( ()
I’m very disappointed because I thought the newer MacBook “PRO” would to be better than the older “white” MacBook.

  20. TE9994 on January 7, 2012 at 2:44 pm

My MacBook Pro 13″ Core i5 2,3GHz 8GB RAM has only a score of 6021

  22. SurajOnTheBeat on January 7, 2012 at 4:15 pm

My iMac got a score of 3300 :( It only has 1GB of ram, 2008 version, 2.4 Ghz Core 2 Duo

  23. Quinns0Channel on January 7, 2012 at 4:40 pm

@b0rk3d It isn’t a graphics card from Intel… it’s Integrated HD graphics and if you have the 2000 type it SUCKS. Of course your dedicated Nvidia mobile card is going to be faster. The intel graphics are on the CPU they aren’t a dedicated GPU… duh.

  24. ianstewartcell0 on January 7, 2012 at 5:18 pm

@Jferrari427 there is no fan in the macbook air because it uses flash memory not a hard drive.

  25. stevethebarrel on January 7, 2012 at 5:42 pm

@b0rk3d Just returned my uk 2gb 64gb11inch air today after buying it yesterday. Tried playing utube vids in 720-1080 and it was jerky while my present 13inch dell xps basic thing never misses a beat, also when playing utube vids i would get intermittent flashes of vertical white light on the right of the screen . After i returned it i tried out another in the apple store and that did the same. Seems like it may be a problem with adobe and lion compatability. Well that £850 down for Apple
